Porterhouse was delicious, juicy, and huge. That's what She said! Lamb chops & Prime rib were really good too. Friendly staff & competitive prices.

The food and staff at hungry are truly top notch. We did an event there a while back, and everything was perfect. Darek was exceptionally helpful and his fun attitude really made ordering and getting our food and drinks a relaxing experience. The prices are a little higher here than some cheaper restaurants but you get more than you pay for.

We just stopped in for a quick beer, no food. They were busy, it was lunch time, but good service made a quick beer doable.

First time going here in about 15 years. It still is pretty much the same. Prices are a little steep for the portions. Waiting staff started great but went on break and the replacement was horrible. Prime rib was bland and the horseradish was very watery. Probably won't be going back here again.

This is the place to go! I am from Ohio and knew nothing about this place! Now I'm begging them to come to Ohio! By far the best steak I've ever had! This place is amazing! Everything tasted top knotch

I was less than wowed. We barely saw our waitress and never got any refills. It took forever to place our order then another eternity to get our food. When we finally did get it was cold and mediocre tasting at best. For the price we paid I was hoping to at least get warm food. Everyone else in our party was served before us and were finished eating by the time my husband and I got our orders. We will not be returning.

Some of the best prime rib you will eat and the Hungry Hunter has the best horse radish I have had. I can no longer pass thru Bakersfield without a stop here.

Amazing steak, tasty good cuts and well seasoned, if not for the price which I think is too much for what you get, and for the limited selection I would rate 5/5

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Bakersfield from the employees to the food everything was great had a really asome time. Lots of selections from the menu. Although this can get very expensive every penny is woth it. The atmosphere of the place was very calm, nice and quite.

Had a good steak. Ordered onion rings and broccoli as sides. Steak was cooked correctly and the sides were good but three onion rings and one medium piece of broccoli seams to show some food cost conservation. Service at the bar was great. Once seated my water was refilled, but not as expeditiously as I would have liked. Once my tall 805 ran dry, I wasn't asked if I'd like another. So I'd consider that service to be average, not stellar. Definitely will return.

Decided to eat here on New Years and it was a good choice. It doesn't have that chain restaurant feel like Outback and Black Angus, and the food was really good. My Porterhouse steak was cooked perfectly and my veggies were not mushy. Service was good and friendly, my glass never ran empty. I definitely recommend you try it if you haven't before.

The prime rib is always tender and was cooked perfectly. Flavorful and tender. Service was also fabulous. Very attentive even with a packed house.

Best burger in town. The bar has the best burger in Bakersfield hands down. Go during a game and they are half price in the bar. The burger was so good I didn't even put ketchup on it.

We were a party of three, without reservations on a Friday night, as we got close to the front door it was opened for us by an employee who greeted us with sincerity. Wow! It was fairly busy, nevertheless we were seated immediately. I ordered the prime rib, excellent along with the salad. Green beans not so good. The shrimp was pretty good. The cheese burger was outstanding.

Happy Hour!So regular portions on food are served at happy hour prices. Of course local meat for the burgers makes for a treat! CALAMARI is fantastic and so are the potato skins.Great stop on our journey...nice atmosphere.And kudos to the staff...opening the door for customers is something i haven't seen anywhere in a very long time.

This place is awesome, great service. They are very professional, polite, the food is serviced fast and is delicious. They have the best Fettuccine Alfredo I have ever had. They make the salads right in front of you and the salads are huge. If I could give more stars I would .

What an awesome steakhouse. It's real deal folks, no vegans or sissies should go in front door. Awesome desserts too, this is not a place to start a diet either.Get down here and eat like a cowboy or cowgurl

Thanksgiving evening pushing 9:00. Just made a harrowing drive through a snow storm. No restaurants open. Stumbled upon Hungry Hunters who were staying open until 10. Three of us got our Turkey dinner which was delicious and filling. My son got the bone in prime rib which he said was the best he ever had. Staff was very friendly and attentive and didn't rush us at all despite probably wanting to get home to their families. So happy we found this place. Thanks for making our Thanksgiving dinner memorable.

I got the prime rib... I didn't even need a knife to cut my med-rare steak.. it was so super tender... It has a good flavor too.

Pretty good fare. I had fried calamari which had bell peppers and onions amongst the calamari. The standard cut Prime rib was tasty though a bit salty near crust.

Steak was way overcooked and the service was nothing spectacular. Just ok for the price and flavor. Just as well to go to Logan's or outback.

Pastrama Ruben was to die for. So tender. I'm so full the portions are too much for me. And staff were very pleasant and lunch wasn't too busy!

Nice venue & pleasant staff. Good menu with lots of choice. We enjoyed the porterhouse. Ample cut of beef with a choice of sides - recommend. Grilled perfectly.

The service was excellent but the food was even better. We were visiting from Pismo Beach area and I have to say, the clam chowder gives The Splash a run for their money 😋😋😋😋. We also had ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce. It was perfect!!

Service was terrible, food was no better. We stopped on our way home from Vegas and wanted a nice dinner together. It was 4:30 in the afternoon when we arrived, and there were only a few patrons in the restaurant. Server asked us for drink order, and brought them right away, but we were about done with our soda before they came back with bread and asked what we wanted to order (15 min later).After we ordered, it took another 35.min to get our food (they brought another bread to tie us over), then both our chicken were flavorless and dry. Management did comp us a dessert for our trouble. We will definitely NOT be returning.

This is a great restaurant that has an awesome menu. I always come here for the Prime Rib dinner. The ambiance is nice with a more upscale feel. Great wine, great food, and great service.

Service was horrible. Our waitress was so upset. Either she didn’t want to serve us or she just had Botox injection and couldn’t smile. I honestly think she was in pain answering our questions about the menu. They took forever to bring our food. Then when they did, they brought the adults and had the kids waiting and waiting. My 6 year old granddaughter said, they take long to make kids meals. From the mouth of babes. Then we asked, if dessert came with the kids meals? OMG We might as well, informed her she wasn’t getting her pay check this month! She said, NO! Like if we sinned by asking. We were just passing through Bakersfield but I wish I can go back and get her name. We tipped her, but she would have been better off receiving a tip on customer service.Food was barely to par, cold and way over priced for the quality. We won’t be back. Dont waste your time or money, unless that’s the only restaurant open in town, ok on the block. Hahha

Really good food and great service but just can't give it 5 stars. Here's why ; the portions are on the small size and the cost per plate are $5 to $8 more for similar restaurants of the same quality of food within just a couple of miles with easier parking.Example was the salad we ordered was $16 then $9 for a small sliced steak that was placed on top.

Was in Bakersfield for a soccer tournament. The food was good and reasonably priced as were the drinks. The wine list is not bad and the per bottle mark up is reasonable. The wait staff was friendly and attentive.

This Steakhouse has an excellent choice of entrees on their menu. Service was really good too. Food is moderately priced for this caliber of restaurant. I would go there again.

Hungry Hunter is one of the best steakhouses here in Bakersfield. Every year I come here on New year's day. The food is amazing, and the staff/waiters are so kind and welcoming. And if you decide to get dessert, I recommend the carrot cake with a cup of coffee. (Their carrot cake is seriously the best carrot cake I've ever had) .

Amazing location. Attracts a very Class A crowd, however, goth.ebm.lgbtq friendly. The stake dinners are amazing. Clay, the Server, is an awesome dude. I genuinely like group of people make up the staff at this location.

Crab stuffed mushrooms where absolutely disgusting tastes old and smelled funny. Ordered mac and cheese tasted like it was Kraft tasted cheap ordered steak and prime rib sandwich tasted salty and not good at all will not be coming back

I went on1/9/2020 for my birthday. I had the house cut prime rib, and it was everything that friends had told me about it. My server was Tammy, and she was AWESOME. I will go back again soon. The only problem is do I get a steak or prime rib.

Friendly staff, rather dim lighting during evening visit. Adult/mature atmosphere. Average ambient noise. Comfortable seating. Close to hotels via walking. Easy freeway access. Plenty of free parking. Good selection of steaks $20-30. Most include salad assembled at your table, and two sides. Mahi Mahi special ($27) very tasty, somewhat small portion though. Petite prime rib good size. Large rich dessert selection. Complimentary dark fresh bread. Beer/wine. Passion fruit ice tea delicious, with frequent refills.
